When Nicolas Jules returns to his old Poitevines lands, it is most often for a concert. This week, an appointment was given in Migné-Auxances, in Vienne, where the musician, exiled for years in Brussels, performed at the inhabitant, at the invitation of an association.

“I like to meet places like that, improbable, because I meet people who do not go to the show”testifies Nicolas Jules.

“I played solo in a bedroom. I placed microphones around my bed, I made everything sit on my bed and my desire was to transcribe the idea that I have rock’n’roll, that of the 50s”explains the artist.

In twelve albums since 1998, Nicolas Jules imposed his music in the ears which follows him most often since his first songs and this EP, which already offered a poetic and laughing epic, From the atrium to the ventricle. Since then, the Poitevin by birth has seen his journey crowned with the prestigious Grand Prix of the Charles-Cros Academy for his album Sinkin 2017 (she had already awarded her prize for favorite, when she was published by her first real album in 2004, The heart on the table), from the Félix-Leclerc Prize given on the occasion of the Francofolies of Montreal in 2005.

His peers also quickly offer him prestigious first parts. Those of Miossec, Rachid Taha, Jacques Higelin, Jean-Louis Aubert or Arno. But Nicolas Jules seems to cultivate discretion, remains behind and engages in a career, without a record company.
