“The Amazigh theater: the achievements and challenges” is the theme of a national meeting, organized Tuesday at the Royal Institute of Amazigh Culture (IRCAM) in Rabat, with the participation of representatives of associations of the Amazigh Theater.
This meeting, initiated by the Center for Artistic Studies, of Literary Expressions and Audiovisual Production under IRCAM, was a suitable opportunity to highlight the achievements and future issues of the Amazigh theater so that he can occupy the place that befits him at the level of the national creative landscape.
Speaking on this occasion, the secretary general of IRCAM, El Houssain Moujahid, assured that this meeting offers the appropriate opportunity to exchange views on the current and future perspectives and challenges faced by the artists and creators of the Amazigh theater.
This event also made it possible to return to the anchoring of the theater in Amazigh culture and arts and the contributions of cultural and academic institutions in the promotion of this art, especially since the beginning of the last century, added Mr. Moujahid.
-In this sense, he highlighted the experience accumulated by IRCAM in this area, especially in terms of academic research, recalling the regular organization of the “artist residence” in order to examine the problems, difficulties and prospects for the development of the Amazigh theater in the Kingdom.
For his part, the director of the Center for Artistic Studies, Literary Expressions and Audiovisual Production, Ahmed El Mounadi, said that this meeting brings together representatives of more than 30 associations in order to discuss the problems relating to Amazigh theatrical production and its stakeholders.
In addition, Mr. El Mounadi indicated that the Amazigh theater has completed several achievements thanks to tireless decades of work and production, adding that the theater has forged a place on the Moroccan artistic scene thanks to the quality of the works produced.
He said that many Moroccan theatrical troops participated in national and international activities and won prestigious prizes.
This meeting was an opportunity to initiate a debate on issues, challenges and challenges standing in front of the Moroccan Amazigh theater, especially in terms of training and financing.
