The teacher of Evaëlle was released Thursday by the Pontoise Criminal Court of Pontoise for Harassment on Minors, including the pre-adolescent who committed suicide in June 2019. In its judgment, the court notably considered that the elements against the questioning were “discordant, indirect, not very detailed” or relating to “adapted and legitimate behaviors with regard to the authority that a teacher in class must demonstrate”.

The parents of the college student are “revolted” by this relaxation, their lawyer told the press, Me Delphine Meillet, from the end of the hearing. “I am in total misunderstanding,” said the mother of the pre-adolescent girl in tears. “I have the impression that we legitimize the behavior of this teacher […]we do not listen to the children, we do not listen to Evaëlle, “added his father at the exit of the hearing.

His “harassment is the trigger and catalyst for the harassment of minors,” said the prosecutor. Two of them will be tried before the children’s court before the end of the year.
