Invited this Friday, May 2 on BFMTV, the environmental deputy reacted to the fact that the actor, awaiting judgment, is currently filming a film in Portugal in front of Fanny Ardant’s camera.
The return of Gérard Depardieu on a plateau arouses the anger of Sandrine Rousseau. President of the Commission of Inquiry on Violence in the Culture Sector, the Paris ecological deputy said this Friday, May 2 on BFMTV that see the fallen star of French cinema currently shooting a film in Portugal is “an insult to French society”.
Implicated in several cases, Gérard Depardieu will know on May 13 if he is sentenced by the Paris Criminal Court for sexual assaults which would have been committed in 2022, when filming the film Green shutters. Since April, he has participated in the production of a film made in Portugal by his friend Fanny Ardant, who testified in favor of Gérard Depardieu during his trial.
“That this person finds himself shooting films as if nothing had happened, it is not an insult to the feminists,” wondered Sandrine Rousseau. “It is an insult to French society, it is an insult to the three children per class who undergo incest and pedocriminality. It is an insult to women who are raped every seven minutes in France.”
-People “can be in danger”
Even if Gérard Depardieu has not yet been condemned to date and that he remains presumed innocent, the deputy considers that women working on this production “can be in danger” and insists that “it is a work law in which there is a fundamental function, which is the protection of people”.
Invited in this interview to send a word to Fanny Ardant, Sandrine Rousseau explained that she “especially wants to address Charlotte Arnould and the other complainants against Gérard Depardieu”.
“I would like to tell them that their word is important, that it is taken seriously in France, and that we are waiting for the judgment of May 13,” added Sandrine Rousseau.
The actress Charlotte Arnould, who filed a complaint for rape against the actor, castigated this Friday on Instagram “The indecency (of) choice” by Fanny Ardant to entrust a role to Depardieu.
