Lori Vallow, the diabolical murderous mother, now judged for the death of her fourth husband – France

-

Already convicted of the murder of her two children JJ and Tylee, Lori Vallow is now tried for that of one of his ex-Maris, Charles.

Sordid dead, linked to each other by the same woman: Lori Vallow. This mother declared guilty in May 2023 of the murder of her children JJ, 7 years old, and Tylee, 17, has been tried since Monday for another murder, that of her ex-husband Charles. To fully understand the drama, you have to go back to their divorce in 2019. At the time, Lori Vallow, who adopted the young JJ with Charles, was no longer herself. According to divorce documents, she takes herself as God and is threatening towards her ex. She has just met the one who will become her fifth husband, Chad Daybell.

Both are part of a radical religious cult affiliated with Mormons and whose major concern is the end of the world and the return of Jesus to earth. They are convinced of being surrounded by zombies and having to eliminate those who no longer have souls. This is how together they organize the murders of the two children of Lori Vallow. The victims mysteriously disappeared in Idaho in 2019. For weeks, the police do everything to locate them, while Lori Vallow fled in Hawaii with Chad Daybell, whom she has just married. It was finally months later, in June 2020, that corpses were discovered in the garden of this disturbing man.

During the investigation, the authorities are interested in a series of unexplained dead around the couple. Children, but also Tammy Daybell. The one who was Chad Daybell’s first wife was found dead in her bed. A death initially considered natural before being reclassified as murder. She was killed just two weeks before the couple’s wedding. And Charles Vallow, therefore, shot dead on July 11, 2019 at Lori Vallow. The latter is accused of having premeditated the crime with the author of the shots, Alex Cox, her brother. While the latter is also accused of having participated in the murder of Lori’s two children, he can never be tried: he died of a pulmonary embolism.

She pleads self -defense

Lori Vallow, who represents herself in this new trial, affirms that it was self-defense. “Self-defense is not a crime,” she said. “A family tragedy is not a crime, it is a tragedy. According to her, the day of the tragedy, Charles presented himself at home in a rental car to recover their JJ son. He would then have started to shout on his ex, forcing the young Tylee – born from another marriage – to defend his mother. “The evidence will demonstrate that Tylee and Charles have argued the baseball bat. After an altercation, Tylee fell to the ground and Charles raised the bat to hit her, “said Lori in the court. “The evidence will demonstrate that Alex then intervened to protect Tylee. She then said that Alex Cox and Charles Vallow “fought physically for the bat and fell to the ground”. “The evidence will demonstrate that after a fight on the ground between Charles and Alex, Charles took over with his bat and headed for me with the same while I was fleeing to the kitchen,” she said. “The evidence will demonstrate that at one point, while I was fleeing Charles who was chasing me with a bat, Alex apparently recovered his weapon. Charles, she said, was killed by Cox while she and Tylee ran out of the house.

But for prosecutors, this version does not hold. According to them, Lori wanted the death of his ex-husband to recover the money from his life insurance and remarry with Chad Daybell. “Charles was on the ground when Alex Cox pulled the second shot,” launched the prosecutor Treena Kay. “The injuries imposed in Charles, the location of the impacts of bullets, the trajectory of injuries, both in Charles and in the house: everything indicates that it was not a self -defense. It was a murder staging. It also took 47 minutes for Alex Cox to call for help after the shots. Troubling, Alex Cox had already been sentenced to threats to one of Lori Vallow’s other husbands, Joseph Ryan, the father of Tylee Ryan, in the past. Joseph Ryan also died in 2018, officially from a heart attack.

The fears of Charles

Lori Vallow’s account is all the less plausible since according to his eldest adult son Colby Ryan, she would have told him that he had succumbed to a heart attack. This is in any case what the young man had told in 2020 in an interview with Fox10. “Why didn’t she tell me what was going on?” He had regretted. That same year, the program “Good Morning America” had also exclusively obtained images filmed by the police in January 2019, on which Charles Vallow shared his concerns about the attitude of the mother. He explained to the agent in front of having had a beautiful marriage with the one who was his wife, but that “last month, everything broke out”.

Charles Vallow claimed to be threatened and fear for his life. “I’m going to kill you because you’re not Charles and no one is going to be sad,” said his wife. Strong and disturbing words that man explained by the fact that Lori Vallow was now convinced that he was possessed by someone else’s mind, a man named Nick of Mick Schneider. He continued by saying that he did not know who this person was and told the strange attitude of Lori Vallow, who would regularly recover large sums of money from the bank.

Lori Vallow was sentenced to life imprisonment without the possibility of release for the murders of his two children, escaping the death penalty. Her husband Chad Daybell was not saved in capital punishment. Saturday 1is June 2024, justice announced its death sentence, the end of a sordid case fueled by power, sex, money and apocalyptic spiritual beliefs in the words of prosecutors. In a recent interview with “Deadline”, Lori Vallow assured that Jesus had “shown” his future. A future in which she is no longer in prison and lives alongside her husband. “We will both be acquitted,” she said. “I saw things from the future that Jesus showed me when I was in paradise. We are not behind bars. »»
